This 2,000 sqm home implements contemporary tropical style. Featuring cantilevered roof, tree branch pillars, and massive window glass facade, the house allows plenty of sunlight and air and brings out its strong tropical characteristic. Original details are implement throughout the interior and the furniture pieces. Other than having a lounge, a gym and a gallery, the house is completed with a separate guest house on the backyard that overlooks a stunning view.
The massive glass facade of the common area (living, lounge, dining rooms) allows not only ample sunlight and air, but also a stunning view of vast garden complete with a swimming pool.
A glass cantilevered roof welcomes visitors into the multi-function area. The natural stone flooring and small gardens on both sides bring a soft tropical touch to the contemporary structure.
Foyer of the multi-function room is decorated with ethnic Java pattern floor tiles. Above it, the glass roof is shaded by metal vine-like structure that diffuses the harsh sunlight entering down below. On the opposite side, a small indoor garden awaits.
The vertical composition of the main porch of the house creates a a grand welcome. The cantilevered glass and steel canopy paired with laser-cut plates create striking shadows below. The brass-plated sconces were designed by our head architect, Alexander Hudianto.
Steps finished in black slate stone direct visitors into the solid sonokling entrance doors. On both sides, the marble skins used on the wall structure strike a contrasting light color to the floor and the laser-cut plate.
Once inside, a gallery-like hall welcomes us. The home owner is a an avid art-lover and this hallway exhibits some of his collections by Yue Minjun. The floor is of light-green onyx marble, the walls are of creamy travertine, and the ceiling softens the previously mentioned stones with solid teak finishing.
A water garden surrounds the all-glass-covered dining room. Complimented with impeccable lighting inside and outside, the ambiance created is just elegant.
Glimmering coconut shell mosaic on the ceiling and a chandelier create a luminosity on the glass walls, creating such an atmosphere in this room. A palisander-veneer panel acts as the backdrop of the pantry and also separates the dining area from the large open space behind. Elegant wooden dining table paired with comfy upholstered armchairs and an onyx marble counter with teak solid top make an exquisite contemporary set.
The living room is decorated with cluster of Tom Dixon copper shade pendant light on the double-height ceiling, a leather couch recliner by Natuzzi Italy, cocktail table, console table and a set of traditional batik stamp hanging above the TV.
The double height glass walls allow maximum exposure to the outdoor, creating an impressive living room.
